The circular is a best friend

a diversity especially when place is at the center.  Is this real?  Or a dream?  A bit of fiction for a Friday afternoon?

    one tiny trail along the mountains--
    to long for the edge
    of the land then turn
    and wander--
    some journeys fitful
    as they wash
