Light playing hide and seek
Which comes first, hide or seek? Are they inextricable? For sure, trees need light, and I think a tree is a lovely home for light.
One or two words
Often suffice —monumental, cold. Sometime a third is necessary: jagged. When was the last time you enjoyed a monumental, cold, jagged meal. Did it include an amount of ice cream?

The essence of hopscotch
A tad incomplete but the concept intact. Which small stone will you use as a marker? Who goes first, you or the crow?

The alchemy of reflection
Reflections fascinates me. I sip coffee inside at dusk and suddenly the cafe lights are orbs hanging from the trees' calligraphic branches. What is being illuminated? What is being said? What elements of physics are inspiring me? Who do I thank?

Mid-January?
Each season has its pots of the unexpected. An iris in the back yard. The hills, vibrant green in contrast to a monochromatic gray sky. Opposites in conversation, not opposition.

Were you expecting something else from the mouth of rock
other than small rocks & pebbles? The question is not what is being said but what did you hear? What have you repeated?

When a warning is obscured
it is, nevertheless, present. The warning, a white tag above the bowling ball says, "KEEP OUT." Meanwhile, where did this bowling ball come from and why did it land here and not in the gutter which is close by? Perhaps, a warning that our earth -- a blue marble -- has fallen on rough ground with few noticing. Serious. And seriously, how did this bowling ball end up here? The Internet is useless in this matter. Another human is my only hope.

A breathable kingdom
verdant. Invitation to put on red boots and explore. The same path is never the same. I'm thinking of the the familiar trees how they curve, how the daily archs to embrace adventure. I say, the simpler the better for the simple is just that was well as complex. Embracing the opposite, each adventure has its curves, its center, and spot of blue. Perhaps, a couple of puddles. Oh, those red boots how they take on the world -- one step at a time.

Beauty stacked
After rain where there is mulch, unexpected beauties appear. Looking down has its rewards. I could fall for that dried curl of leaf every time. Of course, I'm meeting these red fungi as I wear my red boots. Symmetry & spontaneity welcome in the New Year.
