Paperness

If it isn't a word, paperness should be. The sound of paper being touched. Being used wisely. Being enjoyed as if royalty. If I were in the kitchen, I'd be thinking of garlic skins and how much paperness they possess. How much royalty they bring to a dish.

  1. today a strange sense of having been in virginia years ago, saying goodbye to my sister. i am looking through many papers to find the exact date and time, but there we were under a tent and sitting on fake grass, the pastor a dear southern man, and then they served us macaroni salad and ham sandwiches in the tiny church. how i longed to belong, and yet, i was headed back north, my sadness, my redemption, on board with me. i record it all many times, on the most precious of papers, for you.
