Can a poem be too well crafted or too grand?

Think of a garden, tended but not overly manicured. Tolerance for a weed or two.

Or food not too fussy, not too precious. The mouth/the eye relish nourishment and the pleasantly unexpected.

  1. Paper

Do you like the edges of the paper
    as much as the paper?

the torn part forced to speak
about the rags it comes from

places where it's okay to wander through trash
and pick what could turn into fuel or paper

I'm with you, the edges and the wild grasses
say more than what is cleared away

beggars with their souls upside down
flowers dropping leaves in the doorway
