This is where memory helps
I missed the peak season for Puya. I remember their otherworldly sacred showiness. A terrestrial bromeliad, the Puya is related to the pineapple. The family resemblance -- spikes. Should you ask, my Dad's nickname was "Spike."

Spikey
Sometimes just looking at the situation clear-headed, you know there would be a few thorns to contend with along the way. A succulent garden is a great reminder that beauty can be watchful, can be guarded. In such situations, best to be on the look-out.
