Organic mowing season
A hillside near us is the yearly gathering of goats who mow the vegetation to a fire-abatement level. How clever, how sensible is this. A herd of mismatched goats with those knowing, sensitive eyes. I'm thinking of all the dishes I prepared with yummy goat-eye beans from Pescadero. That wonderful shop closed several years ago.

ReplyDeleteI'm with you
The edges
and the wild grasses
Beggars with their souls
upside down
Flowers dropping in the doorways
The crops ruin in the blazing sun
Black spots and teardrops
And the ladders don't lean on the broken trees
like they used to
like they used to
