    house of the grandparents, run down and full of laughter with the torn wallpaper and rusty bolts in his workshop..one of our favorite places as kids..room to wander and make the requisite mischief. chicken coops even! twas the romance of the neglected, made visible, tho a kindlier kind of neglect, in comparison to
