asked a neighbor to prune the huge succulent in the backyard, could not see over it, under it, around it. the slice down to the roots showed a trunk as large as a tree beneath the sharp edges. will it grow again, in the same way, or transform itself to survive another blow. i trust in its resilience, the flowers shooting from it on film, but gone for now.
