Forming
or perhaps dissolving. Perspective is all. But perhaps we can agree on the beauty of the dramatic even when it comes to a pinch of red pepper flake or when we decide whether to add or remove a preposition to a line of poetry. Forming and dissolving: principles of editing. Principles of cooking.

ReplyDeleteShe took me to the ocean and I played in the sand
She bought me chocolate ice cream cones
And spread us out on the old blanket
I kept looking for someone out there in the waves
I kept seeing my future out there somewhere
And wandering in a blur of wandering
Without my compass
Without my pretty maps
I landed in a place I though I knew
Going home in many boats
riding on the luck of the draw
and down the dusty roads with many others
I got somewhere I was supposed to go
Fortunately
Fortunately
Fortunately
