Smokebush
Also known as dyer's sumach. I took a different street home. Amazing what you encounter when you walk along a different street. When you look with the intention of seeing.

The majestic wishes to thank
its roots for its grandeur. I'm sure, the roots are rooting on every bloom in the singular and in the collective.

Who knows what this is?
Who knows what anything is except itself in this moment. Happy Saturday. Perhaps, the farmers market will provide the necessary wisdom. It often does.

Puya
These terrestrial plants are yearly favorites. They never fail to inspire me walking through a portal. Hmm, puya portal!

A piece of glass
with its myriad of reflected impressions, is like a fat, page-turning novel. Great as summer approaches.

The simple object
is beautiful. Spoon. Two rose petals. A small clump of nasturtium. And the combination, the gathering, exquisite. Nothing less that the intersection of story and stillness.

Full circle
Every year in our northern New Jersey (Hackettstown) backyard, a row of luscious pink peonies bloomed. Steadfast & showy. Meanwhile Ricky our dog (late memory) would want to go outside. Well, now it's May1, and in our Walnut Creek home the peonies have bloomed and a neighbor's dog Zeek Stubbs appears after chasing turkeys. Quiet and gentle, Zeek shows up at our patio gate every 5 weeks or so. Peonies & pooch -- two vibrant beautifies reminding me of childhood.
