you're at the middle of your dream, and yet it has already ended last week, but the continual hum of the engine, on and on, like the bluejeans your brother wore in that picture of him at ten, that sweet and sullen face, all set to suffer. why not work on cars and have lots of gadgets in the basement? it is like a wrench which is rusting in the melting snow, found again, needed at an earlier hour, but here now, gratefully picked up and applied to a loose juncture. how like his little life, when picked up by a friend or a sister, hiding a tear behind a big old sweater, brave and all-knowing boy in the wind.
