Light is a snake among fractals
as words slitter through a poem
As the cook wonders
how to prepare
a meal with plenty of light
& surprise

Do not mistake the ease of discourse for its depths--the sunglasses left on the table, forgotten.
Everything touched denies it surface, as a new heat emerges from the surface, secret impressions in the dawn.
Forbearing, one moves through all that is forbidden early on in sequence--fruits and fish comfort the naked dishes, chilled the night before.
Go ahead once the check has hit its mark--
carriages of bounty pounding on the country roads.
