Food as poetry is simple and practical (sometimes in a quietly celebratory way).

    Indigent though the sparrow may appear on the balustrades of his autumn, there are demands on the moment. We dine, at the most beautiful inquiry of all, throwing open the door to the porch and gazing at the sea. Asparagus with mayonnaise
    and.mustard sauce, shrimp, endive--it all conspired to make a scene as I attempted to concentrate on what was being said. Cubist views butt in.
