Underpinnings. What are the underpinnings of a poem?

A human hand. Heart. And feet.
A particular palette and its expression.

"Feet" are essential to do the marketing and to accommodate the distance between kitchen and table.

    five pens on the table
    one for each day of the task
    two have gone missing
    dropped down the well or the stream
    that day we walked through mud
    that other day the sun burned
    triumphantly, almost down
