to pot
to lips
to mouth
to you
to your
back
as much
camera
as mirror
the pen
seeks
paper

  1. Words like other objects flying around. Some of them reminded her of her father, a tall and difficult man with a redeeming sense of humor and understanding of the absurd, and a love of color, form, balance, accomplishment, progress. Perhaps that's where she learned about abstraction, the pull of the familiar and its opposite, the reflection off the concrete, even as sidewalks give off heat unexpectedly.
