Horizontal. Do poems recline

on the horizontal?
Are they meant to be up-right creatures?

And of poets?

And of string beans and strawberries. On a salad of field greens. Roasted walnuts. Appropriate olive oil.

  1. where the land must stop and rest
one's eyes that is when painting
changed for all time space and light
    straddled on this line
    this imagination of beginning
    and end, home of dragons
    and the queen's diamond ring
